Tips for Hiring a Rocklin Web Designer

February 16, 20173 min read

The recent demand for professional website designers and online services has increased substantially, and now businesses of all sizes and everyday individual people have a variety of options when it comes to hiring a web designer. The sheer volume of web designers out there, while indicative of the demand for the industry, can overwhelm someone like you is trying to narrow down the options to find the best fit. And since not all web designers offer the same experience, services, and ability to adapt to new technologies and methods, so its important to be selective when hiring a web designer for the first time.

Below are 7 tips for hiring a Rocklin web designer to help make this process a little less stressful! Hopefully these tips will act as a guide in finding a web designer who is an ideal match for you and your business:

  1. First take time to reflect on what your needs are, specifically what you want and expect from your web designer: To hire the right web designer you should first know exactly what you are looking for from them, so start by identifying some of the characteristics, features, and qualities that you want for your website, as well as the same for what you don’t. Get specific. Analyze some of the websites you like to use and examine what makes them so preferable, and do the same for the website’s you think could use some work.

  2. Then determine what your budget is and what you expect to pay a web designer for their services: As is the case with any industry, there is a range in what you can expect to pay a web designer based upon what services are required for the product you want to create, and often quality is correlated with the dollar amount. This is because building a website requires a team of coders, designers, marketers, and others who work together to create a unique website tailored to your specific needs.

  3. Look into the references of all the web designers you are considering: A web designer’s customers, both past and current, can give you a good look into how that prospective web developer will handle your account and your business, so don’t hesitate to ask for references once you are considering to hire a web designer.

  4. Make sure the web designer you choose has experience with the platform that will work best for your business needs: You want to hire a web designer who has worked with the platform you’ve selected for your business, because not all platforms and hosting services are equal when it comes to the use of proven marketing methodologies and overall success rate. WordPress, is an example of a potential platform that your web designer could use to build and launch your website.

  5. Ask questions of all potential website developing companies you are considering, specifically, if they will be able to meet all your deadlines. Be sure to clearly ascertain whether or not a web designer will be able to meet all the deadlines you set for them; there’s nothing worse than paying up front for a developer to design you a site that launches late and costing you more money in the long run.

  6. Choose a web designer who makes communication easy and efficient: A successful relationship between you and your web development company relies heavily on consistent communication and constant feedback. If judging by your first interaction with a potential web designer that they are eager to respond to you and show an interest the goals of your business, then that is a clear indication that they are a quality web design team you should consider hiring.

  7. Finally, compare and contrast the services and experience of all the web designers you are considering after narrowing down your choices from research: After reviewing the portfolios of your options and getting a feel for what each web designer has to offer your business, go through your notes and simply compare and contrast their services. By now you know what you want your business website to look like so ask yourself, which Rocklin web designer will work as hard as I have to create this vision with me?

After spending several months reviewing multiple proposals from several different companies we engaged LOJO to develop a new website that represents our company effectively. We worked initially with Stephen Platte who helped create the scope of the project. Stephen was knowledgeable and always followed up with me on time and as promised.

He "closed the deal" for LOJO with his professionalism, service orientation and easy going approach. Once we signed the contract we were introduced to Jay Kelly who would be the creative lead for LOJO. This was the most challenging part of the project for my company, as there was no shortage of ideas from our side. Jay managed the project flawlessly, and once we had all agreed to the design, Jay introduced us to Eric.

Eric Lay is one of the founders of LOJO. Eric took the design we had developed and brought it to life. We delivered content as quickly as he requested it. Eric kept the project on task and we responded by exceeding every deadline for content. In turn, once provided, literally not a day went by that Eric didn't add the content and take the next step. In just a few weeks we launched our new website. Eric is a pleasure to work with.

His positive attitude and consultative approach really enhanced the experience and made a big difference for us in the outcome of our project. We would welcome you to visit our website to take a look at the quality work of LOJO. We are very pleased with LOJO and look forward to working with them in the future as we pursue an aggressive SEO strategy."
