When Does a Business Need a Website?

March 22, 20173 min read

If you’re asking yourself: “When do I need a website for my business?” The answer is now!

There is no doubt that in today’s market if you do not have a website, you are missing out on opportunities and probably losing potential business. We live in a world where the assumption is that if it can’t be found on Google, it must not exist. Even small businesses can find huge benefits from having a professional website. The following are just a few possible reasons why your business needs a website now, even if you are in the beginning stages of business planning:

1) To gain credibility

More and more consumers do Internet searches before making purchases. If your business cannot be found through those searches, then business is likely going to your competitors with an Internet presence. A website is a great opportunity to give a good first impression to your customers. Keep in mind that a well designed, professional will give you credibility, while a difficult to navigate, unprofessional site will actually damage your credibility.

2) Save money

While it does cost money to design and host a professional website, in the long run you will find that is a cost-effective way to promote your business. Every business has to promote somehow and especially when you consider how far your reach will grow, you will not find those results in a cheaper format than a website.

3) Inform your customers

A website is a great hub for communication with your customers. When you have special deals or new product releases you can promote those via your site and your customers can stay informed on what is going on with your company. Print mediums alone are difficult to quickly inform people of anything these days, so it is a good idea to have a website to supplement other communication methods.

4) Target a larger market

If you are looking to expand at all, you should definitely consider creating a website to reach a larger target market. Once anyone with an internet connection can find you, barriers such as location are broken down very quickly. Even if you do not want to actually sell your products online, people can learn about you that otherwise might not have the opportunity.

5) Showcase your products and services

Products and services do not have to be sold online to have a valuable website. Although that is an effective, convenient way to drive business, you might want to start out with a simpler step of just showcasing your products and services first. This is a great platform to peak interest in what you have to offer and then direct people into your office or store to learn more for themselves.

6) Save time

If you currently are without a website, chances are you are spending a lot of time dispensing information to current and potential customers. It takes a serious investment of time to do this whether it is face-to-face, via phone calls, emails, print ads or any other way. However, a website is a collection of all that information in one simple, accessible format. You can save time by directing people to your website where they can be informed all at once.

So if you’re still wondering if it’s the correct time for you to build a website for your business, stop wondering and start thinking about the advantages that having a website gives you. Contact us today, to find out how a professional web design can benefit your business.

After spending several months reviewing multiple proposals from several different companies we engaged LOJO to develop a new website that represents our company effectively. We worked initially with Stephen Platte who helped create the scope of the project. Stephen was knowledgeable and always followed up with me on time and as promised.

He "closed the deal" for LOJO with his professionalism, service orientation and easy going approach. Once we signed the contract we were introduced to Jay Kelly who would be the creative lead for LOJO. This was the most challenging part of the project for my company, as there was no shortage of ideas from our side. Jay managed the project flawlessly, and once we had all agreed to the design, Jay introduced us to Eric.

Eric Lay is one of the founders of LOJO. Eric took the design we had developed and brought it to life. We delivered content as quickly as he requested it. Eric kept the project on task and we responded by exceeding every deadline for content. In turn, once provided, literally not a day went by that Eric didn't add the content and take the next step. In just a few weeks we launched our new website. Eric is a pleasure to work with.

His positive attitude and consultative approach really enhanced the experience and made a big difference for us in the outcome of our project. We would welcome you to visit our website to take a look at the quality work of LOJO. We are very pleased with LOJO and look forward to working with them in the future as we pursue an aggressive SEO strategy."

The team at LOJO were wonderful to work with. They are well organized and very patient as we worked through our marketing strategy and developed a well thought out and clear action plan at a reasonable price. We will definitely be back for our future campaign needs."
