What Makes Users Run Away from Your Site

What Makes Users Run Away from Your Site

June 12, 20143 min read

When creating your new website, remember: your website is about your customers.

Your website is about how easy they can find what they’re looking for, or how you can provide them with the best experience possible, without driving them away. An effective Sacramento Web Design Company can help you understand some of the items that your customers run away from and help you avoid them. See more info at larsremodel.com.

We’ve put a list of items on your website that could be driving your customers away:

  • Getting your point across to your customers is important, but what happens when your content does more bad than good? Website users don’t like to see large blocks of text that are too difficult to read, technical jargon about the service or product you are selling, and no one likes to see sentences in ALL CAPS. Another issue with content that drives customers away is frequency. Content should be updated every once in a while to avoid outdated information.

  • If a potential customer lands on your website and doesn’t know where he or she needs to go to search for an item, they will most likely just leave. That is why it is extremely important to make it easy for your potential customers to navigate your website. The way your website is put together is very important – make sure all the call-to-action parts of your website are visible, make sure your site is correctly organized. Your Sacramento Web Design Company should find out how users are interacting with the website and how they typically look for things to make sure that your site’s structure is as effective as possible.

  • Using uncommon terms may make your site sound fancy, but it won’t help your prospective customer find what he or she is looking for and they will most likely end up leaving. You might like having a unique name for a product or service, but the average person will probably be searching for something more common. Make it easy for your prospective customers to find what they are looking for by being clear with your page titles and product and service descriptions.

  • Slow site speeds are very frustrating and can cause your prospective customer to leave the site and never come back. You can easily improve your site speed performance by: not uploading images that are too large for the page and take too much time to load, and making sure your website’s code is optimized for performance by using a reliable web host provider. Talk to your Sacramento Web Design Company about how they can help you avoid these and implement these simple steps.

If your website is guilty of any of these, don’t fret! It’s never too late for you to improve your website. Contact your Sacramento Web Design Company for them to help you improve your website.

After spending several months reviewing multiple proposals from several different companies we engaged LOJO to develop a new website that represents our company effectively. We worked initially with Stephen Platte who helped create the scope of the project. Stephen was knowledgeable and always followed up with me on time and as promised.

He "closed the deal" for LOJO with his professionalism, service orientation and easy going approach. Once we signed the contract we were introduced to Jay Kelly who would be the creative lead for LOJO. This was the most challenging part of the project for my company, as there was no shortage of ideas from our side. Jay managed the project flawlessly, and once we had all agreed to the design, Jay introduced us to Eric.

Eric Lay is one of the founders of LOJO. Eric took the design we had developed and brought it to life. We delivered content as quickly as he requested it. Eric kept the project on task and we responded by exceeding every deadline for content. In turn, once provided, literally not a day went by that Eric didn't add the content and take the next step. In just a few weeks we launched our new website. Eric is a pleasure to work with.

His positive attitude and consultative approach really enhanced the experience and made a big difference for us in the outcome of our project. We would welcome you to visit our website to take a look at the quality work of LOJO. We are very pleased with LOJO and look forward to working with them in the future as we pursue an aggressive SEO strategy."
